Asja’s Thread Art is a small art business based in Burlington, North Carolina. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

In short: We use personal information to process orders, deliver gift certificates, respond to customers, keep the website secure, and meet business and legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and this website is not currently configured for advertising or cross-site behavioral marketing.

Your name, email address, shipping or delivery information, and contact details.
Order details, product selections, custom-order preferences, and messages you send to us.
Gift-certificate information, including purchaser and recipient names and email addresses, a personal message, selected value, and requested delivery date.
Information you voluntarily provide when requesting customer service or reporting a damaged shipment.

2. Payment and Transaction Information

Payments are processed through our payment provider, currently Square. Asja’s Thread Art does not store your full payment-card number or card security code in its product-management database. We may retain order and transaction records such as the amount paid, order reference, payment status, gift-certificate balance or redemption history, and information needed to fulfill the purchase.

3. Information Collected Automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and security systems may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, request timestamps, pages or endpoints requested, and security or server-log information. Essential cookies or session identifiers may be used where necessary for site operation, security, checkout, or the password-protected administration area. Administrative security may also use one-way hashed technical signals to help detect abuse; the hash is used as a security identifier rather than to identify you by name.

To process, confirm, fulfill, ship, and support purchases.
To create, deliver, administer, and redeem gift certificates.
To communicate about orders, custom commissions, delivery, and customer-service requests.

If we offer an email-newsletter or studio-update sign-up and you choose to subscribe, we may use the email address you provide to send those optional messages. Marketing messages are separate from transactional order emails. You may unsubscribe from optional marketing emails using the unsubscribe method provided in the message or by contacting us.

6. Service Providers and Disclosures

We use service providers to operate the website and complete transactions. These currently include Vercel for website hosting and file or image storage, Neon for database services, Square for payment processing, and Resend for transactional email delivery. We may also provide information to shipping carriers and professional advisers when reasonably necessary to fulfill an order, operate the business, or comply with law.

We do not sell personal information. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use advertising or marketing analytics on this website. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect against fraud, security threats, or unlawful activity.

7. Cookies and Similar Technology

This website is currently designed to use only technology that is necessary or reasonably related to site operation, security, checkout, and administration. Because non-essential advertising and marketing analytics are not currently enabled, we do not presently display a marketing-cookie consent banner. If we later add non-essential analytics, advertising, or similar tracking, we will update this policy and provide consent or opt-out controls where required by applicable law.

You can configure your browser to block or delete cookies, but some checkout, security, or administrative functions may not work correctly if essential cookies are blocked.

Order, payment-status, gift-certificate, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be retained longer when needed for legitimate recordkeeping or legal obligations.
